House of Love

We are just loving our new gift from God! Sometimes I stand in the kitchen and look out at the backyard and think "is this real?!" We love going to Target and looking online at furniture and cool things to go around the house one day. For now, I seriously can't thank Grandfather enough for giving us every piece of furniture in the condo! What a huge blessing to already have our first house furnished!

We still have lots of paint touch ups to do and many pictures to hang! Those are this weekend's projects. This past weekend we spent Saturday and Sunday at the park playing basketball and riding our bikes because the weather was so nice!

Philippians 4:8-9

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."

This has become one of my favorite verses from the bible. The Lord has shown me this verse 3 times this week. So many times I find myself thinking about negative outcomes versus the positive ones. I guess I feel like if I prepare myself for the worst, then I won't be as disappointed when things don't go my way. But there lies the problem! It's not about my way, it's about His way. When we are living for His ways and purpose for our life, we won't have to worry about the outcome because ultimately it is His will for our life. So here we are told to think about the positive! Think about the things that are worthy to be praised in His name! While it is okay to consider the worst case scenario in some situations in our lives, ultimately we are to dwell on those things that are pure and lovely. And whatever we know is true and right by His word we are to put those things into practice in our lives. So shout out these truths in your life and watch the difference God can make! The verse clearly says if we do these things, the God of peace will be with us. I don't know about you but I can use all the peace He wants to give me! So what is it that you are dwelling on or are worried about today? What things are in your life that create a mindset that is full of negative, unlovely things? Turn it over to the Lord and remember His promise in these two verses!

Happy Birthday, to me!

My mom bought me my first antique piece for our new house. I absolutely love it! Take a minute and see if you notice anything about the white horizontal piece on the wooden cross...

It's the shape of Tennessee! It was the first thing I noticed about it. She didn't even see it until I said something this morning when she sent me the photo. That makes this even more special to me :)

Unfortunately, the post office was charging way too much to have it shipped to me. She and Reagan are coming down in March to host a housewarming party for us so hopefully she can bring it then if not sooner!

Wow - I had to add to this post from earlier because gifts keep flowing.

Jill sent me a gift card to a boutique by the house called, Swankyville. I've passed it a few times since we've moved in and can't wait to go shop! Granny sent me some beautiful, pink Gerbera daisies to plant at our new house. That was so thoughtful of her and I can't wait to plant them when it gets warmer.


And now for probably one of the funniest gifts I've ever received; a bundle of balloons from Jon, Heather, and Landon. Sweet little Landon walked into our office holding them and it just melted my heart. Why is this funny you might be asking yourself? I'll give you a minute to look at the photo closely...


Most of you know (especially you, Mo) that Jon likes to call me Mego Prego. NO, I'm not pregnant, nor are we trying, but Jon is just really looking forward to calling me Prego when I am pregnant. So they thought it would be funny to add a pink "It's a Girl" balloon in the batch. I didn't even notice it at first and then a co-worker pointed it out. Of course my face turned 50 shades of red! I am always up for a good laugh. He and Heather both have a great sense of humor. :)

This really has been a great birthday so far. 25 seems like a milestone and I feel like I've accomplished quite a lot for my age; married my best friend, received a Bachelor's degree, currently working on my Master's degree and bought a home with my husband! I have so much to be thankful for. Thank you, Lord for letting me see another year!

Thanks for my birthday wishes and gifts! Dinner with the hubby tonight to top it all off!
