White Christmas!

Our first day in California was spent in Big Bear. It was about 2 hours away from where The Welch's live in Glendora. We drove to the top of the mountains and stayed in the cutest little cabin. It started snowing big flakes on Saturday night and we woke up to (an early) White Christmas!

Big Bear Lake

This picture is out of place but I wanted to include it on this post. I took this from the airplane on our way back to TX. I've never seen snow on the mountains from an airplane and it was so beautiful!

Elvis, oh I mean Slone, in a funny store we found in the village.

On our last day in California, Slone and I decided to "get lost" in LA. We had a GPS with us in case we needed it but we just got on the freeway and started driving. I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I normally do but I think I was trying to soak it all in and got carried away! It's such a big city and we spent all day driving around.

I think it's so cool that Jill's family (The Welch's) live just a few blocks from Route 66. My plan one day is to drive it from beginning to end!

Slone really wanted to go to Compton and I gave in. That's the end of that story. :)

More pictures from Big Bear, CA to come!

*Starkey's First Tree*
So I bought this pre-lit tree and thought, "We are in business!" However, it's not as full as the picture and more lights need to be added. All of the ornaments on there now are from wedding showers from last year. I thought it was so creative for everyone to get them for our first tree!
Overall, we are very pleased with our little tree!

This is our topper for now, until we get a star
or angel to take its place.

This is a cake someone got to represent
our wedding day.
