Happy 4 year Anniversary to my best friend!

We had sushi for dinner that night - our favorite! And I even tried a new roll with oyster in it :) It was a sweet and relaxing dinner and I remember you leaned in real close to me at one point and said that you were happy to have me as your wife and that you think we are perfect for each other...

Christmas, Nashville style

So as I mentioned before, we are back and settling in from a week long vacation. I always feel refreshed after going home and the drive there and back allows me alone time with the Lord. While I'm on that subject, let me share this cd with you, Love Revolution by Natalie Grant. Ok, back to the trip...Tana was super bummed while we packed. But little did she know she would be tagging along.

We drove overnight Wednesday and got there around 11am Thursday morning. Unfortunately, this is what it looked like when we finally arrived :(

Thankfully, it didn't rain the entire time although it was pretty cold! I hoped for snow but that didn't happen...

One night while we were out for sushi, these guys came in and sang for everyone. I must admit we were pretty skeptical about them at first when they said "Attention everyone" and all had ski masks on - lol! Turns out they were just some high schoolers having a good time!

During our trip, I was also able to catch up with some girlfriends of mine that I grew up with.

Our Christmas Eve tradition continued on at Mammy's and we ate her great homemade cookin' and opened gifts from her and our uncles. I love this time of year and being at her house on this special night. Her house is small but over the next few years I know will be crowded with more and more love as we bring more grandchildren in the family! She wouldn't have it any other way!

Braxton loves his aunt Reagan so much. They are always laughing together. She was letting him hop on the stool while she held him and my brother would sneak up behind him and hold his ankles where he couldn't hop up. He thought it was so funny!

And sweet Slonie returned the favor :)

Braxton got a bunny that plays hide and seek. It came with a carrot and when you turn the carrot "on" and go hide, the bunny counts and tries to find you. I can't say it was 100% accurate but it was a good thought because he loves to play hide and seek.

Reagan and I got aprons from Mammy because we both love to cook


Christmas Day we headed to dads to have Christmas with him and our Granny and Memaw. My sweet Memaw is 92 years old and still making it around. This is the first Christmas that she has been pretty quiet and she let me know that she wasn't doing too well. I really didn't like hearing that but she is such a trooper and I know she will keep pushing through. She told all of us that it's her own fault that she needs some of us to help her walk (as well as her cane) and that she was going to start doing some exercises to get stronger so she doesn't need help to walk anymore ;)

Braxton got a new scooter from Papaw and I was so shocked that he already knew how to use it! He wants to help you put everything together. He is a very hands on learner and loves to put things together. He also got a tool set to help build things around the house. For a 2 year old, he is super smart and athletic.

Anyone out there with a smart phone knows what this is - ANGRY BIRDS! When my dad discovered this game on Reagan's phone he couldn't stop playing it. :)

These are only a few highlights of our Christmas. I really want to get a new camera soon so I can take more pictures. I don't always like using mine because it's old and the pictures don't always turn out. Once I get some pics of the things Slone and I got for the house I'll post them.

We're Back!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We got back from Tennessee around midnight last night and are both at work today. Slone actually just walked over to my desk and said he was really tired - ha! I'm actually pretty awake and ready to get home, unpack and get our new things in place. We got lots of goodies for the house. We also managed to bring back some wedding gifts that mom has been keeping in her attic.

I probably say this every time but it never gets easier leaving. I miss them more and more each time we drive back. Slone always reassures me that God has us right here for a reason and I truly believe that. We do talk about moving back and I think that it will happen one day. Until then, the Lord knows our hearts' desires and I believe He will answer that in His perfect timing.

Women's Christmas Dinner

A few weeks ago I attended the Women's Christmas Dinner at church. Me and Krista were in charge of decorating our table and this is what we came up with. We wanted a Winter Wonderland theme and envisioned whites and silvers, along with making it simplistic! The other tables were a sight to see and each group did an amazing job decorating. I wish I would have gotten more photos but I'll have to step it up next year!
