Road Trip!

Slone, Jill, Kirk, and myself went to Austin for the UT / Tech game. I had never been before and was pretty excited to take a short trip away for the day. On the way we passed Baylor, which is one of our good friend's alma mater and a little placed called The Czech Bakery. Can I just say that this bakery smells divine!! The game was awesome, except for the fact that Kirk is a diehard Tech fan and if any of you watched the game, well, you know how he felt...Nonetheless, the weather was amazing and we ate popcorn and candy and sipped on some nice cold Coca Cola during the game. Afterwards, we ate at Guerro's, a little Mexican place off Congress. It was so good and we all left very full and tired! Before we headed back to Mansfield, Jill showed us around 6th street and we drove by the capitol. Overall, it was a fun day and I'm glad we got to take a road trip with the in-loves ;)

I Heart Fall

Mom and Reagan came down last Thursday for her fall break from school. They stayed through Monday and we shopped, watched the Rangers, ate at the infamous Joe T's, and I took them to the Texas State Fair. We had so much fun as always and we were all sad to part ways. However, we will be home for Christmas and that's right around the corner!

After dinner, we had the Fearings and Nances over to hang out for Slone's birthday and watch the Rangers in the World Series. Reagan made an awesome cake for Slone!

Sunday we headed to the fair and ate some fried goodies! We shared a funnel cake, fried cheesecake, and fried pickles. Yes, when we got home Sunday night we were pretty sick at our stomachs but hey, that only happens once a year and it was worth it! Mom and I alternated riding rides with Reagan and she did one Bubble House Maze on her own.

Looking at it from the ground I thought it wouldn't be too bad and I'm always up for rides at Six Flags so I gave this one a shot. Never again will I ride it! It jerked us so hard and went so fast that we butted heads and I lost my sunglasses (only at the end of the ride to find out they ended up in Reagan's seat, bent). At one point, I remember seeing her head jolt around so I reached over and grabbed her chin so that she would keep her head back on the headrest! LOL - needless to say, we were all 3 cracking up at the end of that ride. I also ended up with this beautiful bruise on my thigh...

What a long week!

Slone went to visit his dad in Minnesota last week. He now has two baby brothers and wanted to go see them! I wanted so badly to go but this time around it just didn't work out. I think it worked out well though because that way him and his dad got to catch up on guy things and play pool, darts, golf and watch game after game on tv!

TJ has gotten so big!

His newest little brother, Chase. Slone said he is the best baby. He didn't cry and smiled and laughed the whole time he was there. The only time he fussed a little was when he was hungry, of course.

While he was gone, I helped host a baby shower for a sweet girl in our bible study class. She is due with baby Noah Elizabeth in December! We played Pictionary and what I like to call Animal Sound Bingo - when Tammy opened a gift and it was on a player's card, the player had to mark the item off and make the noise of the animal listed at the bottom of the bingo card. It was lots of fun!

Tana and I went to the park a lot while Slone was gone too. It was just too boring to sit at home without my best friend there, so we were out and about as much as possible. We also started her in obedience training classes in Arlington. Our first meeting was Sunday and she is already ahead of her class because Slone and I have been working with her so much on obeying and knowing her role in the house. This week our "homework" is to teach her where her "spot" will be when letting guests in the house. No one wants a dog greeting them at the door, nor do they want one jumping on them so this is an important rule for her that we want to make sure she understands early on. She is so smart and wants to please us so I know that she will understand this command in no time. I wasn't as excited to get a dog in the beginning like Slone was and I had never owned a doberman. My perception has completely changed about her and her breed. She is so intelligent and sweet. She cuddled with me a lot on the couch while Slone was gone. :)
Yes, she has little her puppy moments where she doesn't want to listen and just wants to run all over the place, but what puppy doesn't? She is already getting so big and I'm so glad that we have her now! We are still posting her ears and will hopefully be done with that for good next month.
