Family Fun

Mammy's surgery went great and she is recovering well! She is back to her high spirited self and ready to get back out and hit the antique shops. Here are some photos from the trip.

This is the most I've ever seen her sit down in my whole 24 years!

Me, Braxton, and Reagan had another slumber party. He just smiles so big when he wakes up!

My little ham. I miss him!

Big week!

God has set some big changes up for us since the beginning of this year and we are ready for what's to come!

School starts this week for the both of us. I'm in Grad School now and ready to start teaching! I'm in no rush though considering districts don't hire until the summer and plus, I still have my awesome job at Texas Power. I'm taking each step day by day and following the Lord's lead.

Wednesday is my 24th birthday (holy cow) and also the day that I go to Nashville. My Mammy is having her lumpectomy on Thursday and I want to be there with her during this scary time. I know that she is in God's hands and there is absolutely no other way to look at it. Every day she says that her breast cancer is not for her but for someone else in order for them to see God's glory through her. She is such a strong woman and I hated to hear that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. But if anyone can get through it, I know she can. Lord, I just pray that you would lead the Dr.'s hands on Thursday during her surgery so that she can come out cancer free and never have to worry about this again. I know that you will take care of her. AMEN!

Christmas with the Kirks!

Jill, Kirk, Jenna and Jason came to Arlington to spend Christmas with us. We celebrated our Christmas on New Year's Day and had a blast. We did a white elephant gift exchange and decided that each year we would have a winner for the best/worst gift. Jenna won this year with a cat sun visor! It was pretty hideous :)

Dinner and white elephant gift exchange at Uno's

From left to right : "Moo" noise maker, bull bucking off a cowboy (we ended up with two of these), cat sun visor, Dumb Ass Hot Sauce - so hot that you'd have to be a "dumb ass" to eat it, and a huge one cent coin.

2009 Winner!

Jason stealing the "moo" noise maker from Slone

Thanks for everything Jill and Kirk!!!

Following dinner we went to hang out with Rona and the rest of the family. The boys played PS3, while the girls played Wii.

Overall, it was a great Christmas. I got to see my family in Nashville and see all of Slone's family, plus Jenna and Jason flew in from LA. Can't wait to continue our white elephant tradition at the end of the year!
